Styly: rock
Papier Tigre from Nantes, France bring back rock music to its basics. No prestige, not over-produced. Just drums, two guitars that won't let you miss a bass at all, and Eric's very individual vocals make what a lot of music is missing these days: the power of minimalism. You can hear that in an almost perfect way on their latest album "The Beginning and End of Now" which has been recorded in Iain Burgess' Black Box Studios (BIG BLACK, RAPEMAN, MINISTRY) in only ten days between tours in Brazil and the US. The record was released on CD and LP on April 13th 2009 by Collectif Effervescence and Cargo.
Papier Tigre are a superb live act and already played more than 250 shows in 15 different countries, such as Brazil, the US, China, UK (for example at the ATP festival curated by Explosions In The Sky) and most of the European mainland. They shared the stage with bands like WHY?, DÄLEK, 31KNOTS, DUB TRIO, WIRE, TER HAAR, AN ALBATROSS, THE BUZZCOCKS and many more.
In November 2009 a short Japan and China tour was played and in this year's April and May they will be hitting European stages again after being absent for over one and a half years.
